Epsilon Telecommunications acquires IP-Converge
As of July the 16th 2009 Elington Pte, part of Epsilon Telecommunications Group of companies, has completed the acquisition of IP-Converge Pte in Singapore. IP-Converge Pte will, with immediate effect, trade under the name Epsilon Telecommunications (SP) Pte. Ltd. The acquired infrastructure and licenses will serve Epsilon's co-location and network expansion under its 'Global Hubs' and 'Connect' brands.
"A considerable amount time and resources have been dedicated to the analysis and execution of this transaction and Epsilon is confident the acquisition will deliver maximum value to existing as well as future clients in the facility. It also represents a major milestone in Epsilon's global expansion plans." says Andreas Hipp, Epsilon CEO.
IP-Converge Pte was acquired from the IPVG group of companies, an Information Technology and Telecommunications (IT&T) company providing a wide array of managed data services and business solutions at international standards. The company operates Telco-grade Internet data centres and network facilities in the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
The Singapore Facility is located at New Tech Park in Lorong Chuan and will be offering further co-location space to customers of Epsilon. The building has 10,000 sq ft of co-location space with an occupancy rate of already 45%, and another 10,000 sq ft of NOC, storage and office facilities. Some major regional carriers already established in this facility and network connectivity is available to other Data Centres in Singapore. The Global Hubs co-location portfolio will be a mirror image of the London site with power availability up to 4kW / rack.
Like its facilities in London and Hong Kong, Epsilon is able to host and support customers equipment whilst also delivering high volume network transport services to almost 50 key data centres across Europe, the US and Asia.
"Epsilon just opened a Hong Kong office and with the much larger facility at the Singapore location the resources for business, administration and technical support will be significant in the Asian region. We are now able to support our client's needs even better and on a more global scale." says Andreas Hipp.
However this only seems to be the start for their Asian expansion. Epsilon Singapore also holds an SBO (Service Based Operator) license and an Internet Services license; therefore plans are in place to establish a Metro Network in Singapore over the next 3 months. This will then provide connectivity to other main Telehouses such as Equinix, Global Switch and to Epsilon's global network.
It seems Epsilon is living up to its slogan of its Global Hubs brand of been ‘The Gateway to the Carrier World'.
